Leading Soil Scientist strengthens Verterra’s capabilities

With over 30 years' experience in land and natural resource management and research, Evan has worked in rural, urban and mining contexts in both the public and private sectors.

Evan leverages his extensive experience to provide our clients with expertise in the following areas:

  • Catchment and water quality modelling;
  • Soil and land resource assessment;
  • Soil erosion and conservation;
  • Land rehabilitation;
  • Land use and environmental planning and regulation.

Evan’s experience is backed up with a Doctorate of Philosophy (Environmental Management and Reporting), Master of Engineering (Quantitative Land Evaluation), and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Biology and Mathematics). He is a Certified Professional Soil Scientist (Leading Professional Stage 3 –CPSS3) and a member of Soil Science Australia.

Some of the notable work that Evan has been involved in includes the application of Systems models and science to the quantitative assessment of nature resource issues; and developing the Gold Coast City Council’s approach to Regional Sustainability Reporting to world-class standard. Evan also had the privilege, as National President of Environs Australia, to lead an independent delegation from Australian Local Governments to the World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002 in South Africa covering a range of issues associated with natural resource management, sustainability and resilience with a view to connecting globally to progress solutions.
