    Soil surveying and land feasibility assessment for irrigated fodder crop development. On-site feasibility study for Xstrata (through METServ), to positively identify the suitability of proposed soils and the sites for irrigation development, and preparation of conceptual design and management plan. Elements of this work include:

    • Site soil survey
    • Impact assessment modelling and analysis for soils, surface water and ground waters
    • Conceptual irrigation system design (potential pivot and flood irrigation areas)
    • Management plan (Beneficial use plan) preparation
    • Monitoring requirements
    • Preparation of an environmental risk management plan
  • Benefit to Client:

    The project provided the client with a novel concept design, feasibility study and management plan that identified a beneficial use option for mine waste water with the capacity to reduce cost relative to conventional management options and increase production of the associated grazing enterprise.
